"On demand" - quando querem assistir algum desenho
"I want to do my communication" - quando estão usando computador
"Quem mandou email pra vc?"
"There, the Eifel tower. You don't see it? It is on the Google Maps?"

google translator
Hoje voltando pra casa os meninos estavam falando. Mamãe, a Mrs Schroeder é a lao-shr da escola dela, né? Eu: sim. Lao-shr em português é professora, e em inglês é teacher.
Eles: e em taiwanês?
Eu: Eu não sei,, porque eu não sei falar taiwanês
Eles: Só o papai?
Eu: Sim

Children or Adult?
Another matt and nate conversation
Nathan: This is not for you, it's for adults, you are children
Matthew: I am adult because I am wearing underwear!

potty training

Soccer
Called the boys - "Brazil is playing"
Nathan shouted "yaaaay"- he was really excited, no kidding. I think all the World Cup and cheering really affected them.
While watching the game: Nathan "I want to go there"
me: "It's in New York, too far for us to go"
Nate: "Like the meat?"
Hmmmm... yeah, like the New York steak :). Another phrase to record!

matt and nate conversations
The boys are really into talking to each other and really mimic whatever we say:
Matt crying because he is hurt
Nate: Matthew, don't cry, I am "mo-mo" you (means patting in chinese)
Nathan to Matthew when we are walking outside: Matthew, give me your hand. Do you want other people to get you (that's what I tell them)
Matthew after going to the potty: Can I have my scooter now? (that's the ultimate potty training prize)

Other random conversations
At Sunday school with daddy...
Teacher: "King Salomon was going to build a temple"
Boy (don't know which - need to ask daddy): "Why, was it broken?"
Then all the kids started asking, why was it broken... :)
After the Bella Terra concert, I decided to ask them what do they want to be when they grow up. I didn't explain anything, so after a while Nathan said "a driver" and Matthew agreed and said "A school bus driver and there won't be a jaguar there" =0. It's probably because I told them that only grown ups can drive (they always try). No idea where the jaguar part came from.

VBS
Pérola do Nathan: Na história, a professora disse: "Then Jesus died". Nathan: "Mamãe, por que Jesus mergulhou?" :D

Songs
Here are some of the songs the boys make up words for (probably because the others don't make sense to them"
"Mighty to save" - Jesus conquered the grape
"Row row row your boat" - Merry, merry, merry, merry, life is butter drink
"Hurry, hurry to the celebration - there's a party waiting to bacon (should be begin).

nose talk
The boys were playing with a small elephant (Nathan) and a small lion (Matthew). Here's the dialog
Matthew: Do you have a trunk nose?
Nate: Yeah
Matt: Why?
Nate: To get water and splash it. Do you have a trunk nose??
Matt: No, I have a stuffed nose
lol :)

Sensitive nose
Today Nathan asked me "who's smoking mommy? Smoking is bad, right?". We recently had started telling them that smoking was bad and every time someone was smoking we would leave the place as soon as possible. He actually associated the smell with the fact and is now very aware of it.
When he was a baby he would cry whenever we were close to the perfume section in a department store. Yep, sensitive nose, like mommy :)

belly addiction
The boys love to touch (rub, pinch, etc) my belly a lot. I am not sure exactly where it came from, but they probably picked it up when I was nursing them. They would touch my tummy while I fed them.
I've tried to get them to stop, but it's going slowly. I think it's their security blanket (a blanket would have been much easier). They touch it before sleeping and when they don't see me for a long time (and are tired).
Today, in their nap, Matt was rubbing Nathan's belly :) cute, although in general there is no substitute for mommy's belly

Pizza for lunch
So *sometimes* I do have to give in to fast food... This Tuesday after school we went to Pizza Hut - the boys specifically asked for it.
It was a carry out place only, so I was planning to bring it back to eat at home. They didn't share the idea and wanted to eat in the car. Good thing, because they were knocked out when we got home. Some pics of them sleeping

Matthew eats all the cheese and the ham in his pizza - see the messy face

Nathan eats everything, as usual

Playing
The boys have been playing a lot by themselves. It's nice that they don't need me as much (of course, it means they are growing up - FAST) and it's quite entertaining to hear. Here a sample
Yep, so they mix the languages. The plot of the dialog is: the big firetruck is daddy, and the smaller ones, one is Nathan and the other is Matthew.
Later on, they found a small Lego with wheels and that became the baby. Nice to see that they are naturally adding the new baby to the mix :)

Real vs plastic

First Baseball Game
So on May 12th, we took the boys to their first baseball game (Angels). We've been wanting to take them for a long time and Daddy found a great deal for a day game. The time was perfect, 4 PM, so after their nap and by the time we got home, bedtime!
They were so excited! Of course, as soon as we told them we played the "behave, so you can go to the baseball game" (yep, it works!). We printed the tickets the night before and on the next morning, Matt told me he had to get his ticket for the ball game - went to the printer and got it (I didn't even know it was there).
The game was great, they did very well for the 3+ hours we were there. We missed the "take me out to the ball game" song in the beginning of the game, but they enjoyed every minute of it on the 7th inning (and asked for a repeat - too bad they don't do it). They played the kid's games there and Nathan even scored in the "argola game" (ask daddy for the translation). We got hot dogs (I told them we had to wait till the 5th inning and they were really good about it) ate raisins and had juice.
The Angels ended up losing, but that's only a detail. They were really amused by the rally monkey and attentively looked for it in the big screed. Daddy, as always, was really good in the cheering and teaching them all kinds of chanting and game lingo.
I can already see baseball fans in the making. The next day we saw they kids playing in the park next door and they were eager to play too. It made their baseball toy very appealing again. I should get ready to boy some gear soon :)

Rebirth of a blog
The idea was good: make a blog to register all the important happenings in the boys life. The execution was horrible: like a lot of past journals, albums, scrapbooks, it started and stalled.
But I am coming back to this again. Now that I am full time at home, it feels like I can (and should do it). The boys are so entertaining and learn so much that I must register these special moments to enjoy it later. And you two too!
Enjoy the reading, this might be in two languages (hopefully you can read both)
much love!
